What we do and how we help our clients

We started the A1TouristGuide directory back in 1979. In those days it was a small family business - a paper listing loads of accommodation facilities in London. We printed it once a week and gave it away at newsstands, shops, and markets in London and it was very successful, being used by lots of tourists who came in droves to the capital city. This enabled us to give an excellent value for money service to our accommodation advertisers.

Then the internet came and was a more popular and convenient way to find many things. We built on our earlier hard copy success and launched a1touristguide.com in 2001, so it is now more than 20 years old. It grew from covering just London to the whole of Britain. Then we added a UK self catering directory too, and eventually expanded into Ireland, Canada, and the United States of America. Now we have more than 15,000 pages and 250,000 entries. A1TouristGuide is definitely the largest and oldest accommodation directory in the world. A fact that helps our clients to get more bed and breakfast guest house bookings and visitors from their advertisements in our directory.

We get more than 7 million accommodation seekers each year, and they are all looking for accommodation. Clients buy affordable advertising in the accommodation directory and each advert links to the client's own website, quickly putting the visitor right where they need to be. We also supply our clients with real time visitor figures so that they can see exactly how many accommodation seekers we have sent directly to their own website.

We are constantly updating our coding for the A1TouristGuide website and its sister site to make sure we keep it fresh and continue to receive more visitors each year. Some of our clients have been with us since the beginning and we are grateful to them for their loyalty.

If you offer accommodation in the UK, USA, Canada, or Ireland, the place to start is our Get Listed page.
